Phong Vu, O.D. – Napa Optometrist

Meet Dr. Vu

Dr. Phong Vu has been a doctor of optometry at Eye Specialists of Napa Valley since 2007 where he treats conditions, diseases, and injuries of the eye, as well as corrective vision.

As a graduate from the University of California at Berkeley, he continued his optometric education at the University of Berkeley School of Optometry. From there, he completed internships at the Omni Eye Services in New Jersey and New York, as well as at the Veterans Affairs hospital in California and Washington.

Throughout his studies, Dr. Vu was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Society and worked with the Berkeley chapter of VOSH International — a nonprofit organization with the mission to bring vision to every person on the planet — to perform eye exams in several cities throughout Thailand.

Personal Life

In his free time, Dr. Vu enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

"I had an appointment with Dr. Vu and Dr. Mehtani on Wednesday.  I did not have to wait for someone to usher me in for an eye scan shortly after I arrived--- which was followed by meeting with Dr. Vu.  Dr. Vu is professional and personable and we had a good discussion about my issues.  He answered my questions adequately and I felt good about the meeting.Next I met with Dr. Mehtani.  He was very knowledgable and spent time explaining and talking about my condition.  We had a very informative dialogue and he was patient and did not rush our time together. "Over the weekend I developed a swollen and painful eye condition. I called the office first thing Monday morning and was able to get in within 45 minutes! I was so amazed and very grateful. Dr. Vu saw me immediately, explained what I had, prescribed medication and home care. Within 24 hours the swelling and pain were greatly diminished and I was feeling much better about eye’s health.
